Leap Motion, a company known for hand tracking sensors, today launched a new augmented reality platform. The North Star project codenamed is a complete AR platform that will provide a better AR experience compared to other devices currently on the market.
Leap MoTIon’s AR headset has two ultra-high-brightness, low-latency 1600×1440 resolution displays, refreshes 120 frames per second, and has a viewing angle of more than 100 degrees. It is also equipped with Leap MoTIon's world-class 180 manual tracking sensor, which provides an excellent interactive experience. The main highlight of this device is the price. Leap MoTIon claims that after the North Star device reaches the scale of shipment, the price can be less than 100 US dollars (about 630 yuan).
Currently Project North Star is still an experimental platform, but Leap MoTIon expects to further improve the design next week.
