Microsoft's blockchain service (BaaS) officially opened based on Azure cloud platform

As the core and underlying technology in Bitcoin, the Blockchain (Blockchain) market has been very hot, many companies have to invest in this field, such as Edgelogic, Blade, Bitpay and Coinapult and so on. As an international software company that mainly engages in the development and maintenance of various operating system levels, Microsoft naturally will not miss this opportunity. Since its entry into the Bitcoin market in 2014, Microsoft has collaborated with a number of blockchain startups based on the Azure cloud computing platform to provide technical platform support for blockchains on the underlying operating system.

As a "sandbox" service proposed by Microsoft, Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) is now officially releasing a preview version to Azure users. Users can interact with different technologies in the low-risk environment provided by this Azure cloud platform to build a blockchain virtual machine test environment in the simplest and most efficient way. (Microsoft offers several reusable columns for different blockchain implementations.) Template) greatly reduces the user's development costs.

Specific usage methods Microsoft also provides detailed guidance documents ( document links ). Users simply log in to the Azure platform and follow the prompts to create a new project under DevTest Labs. Select the "DevTest Labs for Blockchain as a Service" option to create. Then select different configuration templates according to their different test directions. In general, the user does not need to pay attention to the specific implementation, just type in the parameters and start using.

Currently, the service already supports 26 different blockchain implementations. Many blockchain startups, including Bitpay, MultiChain, and Storj, have already reached a partnership with Microsoft, so users of these companies can Directly find the corresponding template in Microsoft BaaS. From this we can also see that Microsoft wants to aggregate the ambitions of all blockchain implementations.

Marley Gray, head of Microsoft's business development and strategy department, described BaaS as an easy-to-use blockchain test environment. He said: "As a developer function integrated under DevTest Labs, Microsoft wants to use BaaS to blockchain developers. Provides the easiest to use test environment."

At present, the BaaS function only appears in the form of a preview, so it is still not perfect in terms of user support and stability.
