There are still many users who haven't had the chance to experience Android 8.0, and already, the next generation of the operating system is on the horizon.

According to a report from XDA Developers, Google has already submitted information about the next Android version in the AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The code name for this new version is "Pi," which is most likely short for "Pie." This follows Google’s long-standing tradition of naming Android versions after desserts or food items. So, calling it "Pie" makes perfect sense and continues that fun theme.

Before Project Treble was introduced, one of Android's biggest challenges was ensuring timely updates for devices. With the new changes, Google is now working more closely with OEMs to streamline the update process, making it faster and more efficient. This should help reduce the delays that users often face when waiting for new OS versions.
