The three energy storage projects of China Electric Power Research Institute passed the acceptance

On February 23rd, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the State Grid Corporation hosted the “Research on Key Technologies and Demonstration Issues of Liquid-Flow Battery Energy Storage System”, “Research on Battery Energy Storage Group Battery Characteristics and Evaluation System and Maintenance Technology” and “Superconducting Energy Storage” in Beijing. All three energy storage technology projects are undertaken by the Institute of Electrical Engineering and New Materials of the Chinese Academy of Electric Power. The research results of the "key technology for liquid battery energy storage system and preliminary issues in demonstration" project have reached a leading position in the integrated technology of all vanadium redox flow battery energy storage systems, and the application configuration, design and test specifications of energy storage systems, etc. It has reached the international advanced level and has been successfully applied in the design, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the flow battery system of the Zhangbei National Wind Power Testing Center and the state-of-the-art solar energy storage demonstration project.

The “Research on Characteristics and Evaluation System of Power Grid Energy Storage Group Battery and Maintenance Technology” project has been highly praised by experts for promoting the application of renewable energy.

The “Superconducting energy storage system integration common technology research” project has for the first time built a hybrid superconducting energy storage system based on BSCCO and YBCO high temperature superconductors and subcooled liquid nitrogen temperature zones, and successfully completed the first grid connection test.
