Exar Releases Buck Regulator XRP7664

At the 2010 Electronic Components Expo in Munich, Germany, Exar Corporation officially released a synchronous PWM step-down regulator, the XRP7664, which can supply up to 2 amps of maximum current and input voltage up to 18V. The release of the XRP7664 chip means that Exar has added a new force to the PowerBlox family of high-voltage, high-current buck regulators that have already received market recognition.

"The 2 amp solution completes the existing 3, 6, 8 and 12 amp converter product line in the Exar PowerBlox family and demonstrates Exar's ongoing commitment to providing designers with greater performance and savings in power conversion. Cost Solutions,” said Eric Pittana, director of marketing for Exar’s power product line. "In addition, the XRP7664 meets the urgent need of our customers to find not only technically feasible but also cost-competitive alternatives to other common step-down converters."

The XRP7664 is suitable for 12V input voltage applications, but it is also suitable for conventional 5V input voltages. The XRP7664 is dedicated to providing smaller size and more cost-effective solutions for a variety of cost-sensitive applications, such as audio and video equipment, such as set-top boxes, telecommunications, Computer peripherals and wider distributed power conversions.

In a compact "green" SOIC package, up to 93% efficiency, the XRP7664 can use simple external components at a constant frequency of 340kHz. The input voltage range is 4.75V to 18V. With two external resistors, the output voltage can be as low as 0.925V with an accuracy of 3%. The XRP7664's design flexibility is further enhanced by its enable function and adjustable soft start. The built-in over-current, output over-voltage, and over-temperature protection features provide XRP7664 with fault protection measures.

Power management with high reliability and accuracy is a key element of any technical system. Exar has a range of high-performance and industry-accepted power management solutions, including handheld devices and lighting control, power conversion, and standard linear devices.

The XRP7664 is available in volume quantities. The products are RoHS compliant and come in a "green" lead-free 8-pin SOIC package.

Our Fiber Optic Splice Trays are made of ABS, light in weight and is RoHS compliant. It mainly is used for optical fiber storage and fiber optic fusion protection, easy to operate and simple to install and uninstall. The Fiber Splice Trays are stackable and can be mounted using two #6 screws; they can be used one on top of another to form a layer structure inside the fiber optic enclosures.

Usually fiber optic splice trays are used inside the Fiber Enclosures, optical fiber glass inside the fiber tray can be melt with any other strand optical fiber in the tray, thus different fiber optic cables can be melt connected directly via the tray, optical cable fiber can also be melted with the fiber optic pigtail end, and via pigtail it can connect out to other fiber optic equipment. The tray expands fiber splice capabilities as well as provides the splicing location for the fiber optic cables. we have ready stock of this series products for immediate shipment.
