The ordinary bulb is the heat generated when the current passes through the filament. The luminous efficiency is higher than that of tungsten. More durable, therefore, energy-saving lamps have a longer life than ordinary bulbs. Normal bulbs typically have a life of 2,500-3,500 hours, a national standard life of 1000 hours, and energy-saving lamps of up to 50,000 hours.
