SP11xx Series TVS Diode Array
The SP11xx series of TVS diode arrays employs Zener diodes made with proprietary silicon avalanche technology to protect each input/output pin on the interface. This advanced design offers exceptional surge tolerance and the highest surge density per square millimeter among all Littelfuse TVS diode arrays. It also features very low dynamic resistance across all relevant voltage levels of the PoweredUSB interface.
These devices can safely absorb up to ±30kV of repeated ESD shocks without compromising performance, and they can dissipate 80A of 8/20μs surge current at extremely low clamping voltages. This makes them perfect for protecting high-speed charging systems in tablets and smartphones, where fast charging can lead to heat or damage if not properly managed.
In addition to USB interfaces, the SP11xx series is suitable for protecting Vbus lines in USB 3.1C type interfaces, which are increasingly used in portable devices. Its versatility extends to various applications such as ESD protection for switches, buttons, test equipment, point-of-sale terminals, medical devices, laptops, servers, computer peripherals, and automotive electronics.
