Nanjing University of Technology and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers academician developed LED "surface light source"

Nanjing University of Technology has developed a kind of LED "surface light source", which can save 20% energy compared with the common LED "point light source" on the market, and the same wattage can be ten times brighter and the average life expectancy can reach 30,000- 50,000 hours.

Yan Guohua, general manager of Nanjing Xiongyan Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. in the National University Science and Technology Pioneer Park of Nanjing University of Technology, said, “The light source is actually a luminous body.” Yan Guohua pointed to a circular sheet at the lamp head, saying that this small wafer is like a mini CD. The diameter is less than 4 cm, the thickness is less than 1 mm, and the background color is yellow. Look closely, there are small black spots on it. “Actually, every little black dot is a tiny illuminator.”

This technology was jointly developed by Lu Hanxiong, a member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, and Nanjing University of Technology. Both the light source chip and the driver chip have their own intellectual property rights. Next year, the Asian Youth League will be held in Nanjing. The athletes' dormitory in Pukou District is also expected to use the "surface light" lamp.

The cable bend radius for single core should be not less than 12 times of overall cable diameter; for multi-core cable, not less than 10 times of overall cable diameter.

The current-carrying capacity is large and not limited by drop during laying .
