The AWE Epland Award (hereinafter referred to as the "Epland Award") officially kicked off this month, with the application deadline set for January 10, 2018. The evaluation process consists of a preliminary review and final assessment, and the winners will be announced during the Consumer Electronics Expo (AWE2018). This year’s award has seen significant changes, including an upgraded application process and a more rigorous evaluation system.
Organized by the AWE Organizing Committee, the Aipulan Award is considered one of the most credible product selection and appraisal events in China's home appliance and consumer electronics industry. Its broad coverage and high standards ensure that only the most innovative and technologically advanced products are recognized. Known as the “World Oscars in the field of smart living,†the Epland Awards have become a major platform where brands compete for recognition and prestige.
According to the official in charge of the Epland Awards, all products applying for the award must be exhibited at AWE2018. In 2018, the organizing committee made several improvements, including the establishment of a Leading Group and an Expert Team, as well as the introduction of a professional reporting platform to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Huang Lei, an evaluation expert and vice chairman of the China Household Electrical Appliances Association, highlighted that the 2018 Epland Awards will see upgrades in positioning, branding, and community engagement. The awards have evolved from being called the “Oscar of China’s Household Appliances†to the “Global Oscar for Smart Living.†This shift reflects the growing global influence of the award, which now aims to recognize products that embody innovation, technology, and improved quality of life.
This year, the Epland Awards include several categories such as the Epland Gold Award, Epland Innovation Award, Epland Environmental Award, Epland Design Award, Epland Product Award, Epland Core Award, and AiPlan Smart Innovation Award. Among them, the public vote category has been rebranded as the Epland Gold Word of Mouth Award. Consumers can vote online via JD.com, with the final round of voting taking place at the end of February 2018. Voting will run through March 9, 2018, and in addition to millions of consumers, tens of millions of professional readers will also participate through 12 media platforms.
Notably, all participating products will undergo a physical evaluation by mail and on-site at AWE. Industry experts from various organizations, testing institutions, research institutes, and media will take part in the judging process to ensure fairness and objectivity. No fees are charged for participation.
