It was in the afternoon when a customer brought in a 22-inch TPV monitor and said, "No power, how much does it cost?" I connected the monitor to the power supply, but the panel indicator didn't light up at all. My first thought was that the power board might be damaged. The customer mentioned that others usually charge around 120 yuan for a board replacement, and he wanted to take it to me for repair. After he spoke, I noticed that the clips on the back cover weren’t fully closed. I told him, “I only do repairs, not board replacements. There’s not much wrong with the board. If you want to fix it, leave your number, and I’ll call you once it's done. If not, just take it back.” He had no choice but to leave his contact information and go. I opened the back cover and removed the power board. When I powered it up, I checked the 320V filter capacitors on the power supply side. Then I measured the output voltages of 5V and 12V, which were both normal. However, there was no indication on the panel. Could the motherboard be faulty? I quickly removed the motherboard and checked the input voltage, which was 5V. Then I tested the 3.3V regulator, which also looked fine. I moved on to the button board and tested the standby button, but there was no voltage on either end. I did a resistance test on the standby key while the power was off and found it was only 20 ohms. After removing the button, I still saw a short circuit on the board. When I unplugged the control board, I checked the black-orange, black-red, and 3.3V lines on the motherboard. But when I reconnected the control board, the black-orange line had no voltage. The keypad only had a few resistors, buttons, and an LED. Was there a short at the connector? After turning off the power, I re-soldered the five wire joints and manually scraped the connections. Then I tested the standby button again, and the short circuit disappeared! I reinstalled the button, turned the power on, and the indicator lit up. Pressing the standby button turned the screen on. Finally, I applied 703 glue to the five soldered joints and installed everything back. After testing with a signal, everything worked normally. I called the customer to come pick it up and shared this repair process with everyone.
