AC LED energy saving delay lamp DIY design

Insert a delay switch light on the socket at the bedside of the bedroom. Press the switch before going to bed, the light will be on, and the lights will be automatically extinguished when the sleep is arranged. It is also convenient to solve the problem at night. If a white high-brightness LED is used as the light source, it is energy-saving and chic.
The author made an AC LED energy-saving time-delay switch lamp, which used a TV antenna amplifier power supply box with socket, an H-type energy-saving lamp circuit board, plus six components and 16 Φ3mm white high-brightness LEDs. The circuit is shown in Figure 1.

First, the working principle

Press button S, AC220V mains through the small transformer B primary coil, bridge rectifier diode VD1 ~ VD4, isolation diode VD5, fast charging capacitor C1, while the current limiting resistor R to the unidirectional thyristor VS input trigger current, Vs is turned on, and at this time, the secondary output of the transformer B is 12v alternating current, and the LED light-emitting diode is lit. When the switch s is turned off, the capacitor C1 is discharged, and the thyristor Vs continues to conduct. After the delay period, the voltage drops to the point where the VS is not maintained, and the VS is turned off when the alternating current crosses zero, and the power of the transformer B is turned off. When the LED is turned off, the LED is turned off, and the circuit itself no longer consumes power. The LED lighting time is mainly determined by the parameters of the capacitor C1 and the resistor R.
The LED light-emitting diode works completely in the AC circuit. Because the AC has a positive half cycle and a negative half cycle, the 16 LEDs are divided into four groups, each group of 4 is connected in series, four groups are connected in parallel in the circuit, two groups are connected in series, and the two groups are reversed. In the positive half cycle, A and B are turned on, and C and D are turned on during the negative half cycle. LED AC drive, turn-on conduction, is conducive to heat dissipation and increase life. Since the LED has a few ms afterglow, no flickering of the brilliance is visible. In order to avoid a large current impact on the LED when the lamp is turned on, the two electrolytic capacitors C2 and C3 are reversely connected to a non-polarity capacitor, which is connected in parallel in the LED circuit, and the withstand voltage of the capacitor is required to be higher than 12V.

Second, components and production

1. The power supply box of the TV antenna amplifier with socket leaves a small transformer and all the remaining components are removed. The circuit board of the H-type energy-saving lamp leaves the rectification part, and the rest is completely removed. The newly added seat model and parameters are shown in Figure 1. Then solder as required. Note - A large tin point should be soldered to the appropriate point on the board as a fixed point of the switch. Insert a piece of phosphor bronze into the power supply nipple as the moving point of the switch (see Figure 2).




2. Insert the circuit board into the side of the power supply box and connect the cable. Apply a layer of white tin foil to the power supply cover for reflective use. Make 16 holes on the tin foil, just insert 16 Φ3mm LEDs.
3. Insert a hole slightly larger than Φ5mm behind the cover and insert a Φ5mm waste LED head outward for use as a button. Note that this button must be aligned with the phosphor bronze as the moving point, which is the switch of the LED energy-saving delay lamp.
The circuit is simple and easy to manufacture, and if it is soldered correctly, it can be used normally without debugging. According to the parameters of capacitor c and resistor R in Figure 1, it can be delayed by more than 4 minutes. If you change the 100uF capacitor to 4700uF, you can delay it for more than an hour.
