The Science and Technology Department of Heilongjiang Province has made significant progress in fostering specialized industry alliances, aiming to enhance technological innovation across various sectors. By promoting the establishment of strategic alliances, the province is working to integrate resources, strengthen collaboration, and build a robust regional innovation system. As of now, there are 5 national-level alliances, 58 industrial technology innovation alliances, and over 1,800 members across the province.
One of the key initiatives is the formation of the New Metal Materials Industry Innovation Alliance. Based on principles such as resource integration, mutual complementarity, and joint innovation, this alliance includes 35 founding members, with 24 being research institutions and 11 universities. This effort aims to guide the development of new metal materials and drive faster, more sustainable growth in the sector.
Another major initiative is the North Pharmaceutical Industry Innovation Alliance. Focused on equality, mutual benefit, and shared resources, it brings together pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and universities. The goal is to leverage academic research, centralize scientific resources, and create an efficient innovation framework to support the growth of the northern pharmaceutical industry.
The Harbin Shipbuilding Service Alliance was also established, using national university science parks and incubators as platforms. With 24 corporate members, it focuses on resource integration, functional upgrades, and building a dynamic, innovative ecosystem that supports high-end equipment manufacturing in the region.
Additionally, a Virtual Reality Industry Alliance was formed, involving 43 enterprises and two universities. Operated under the principles of voluntariness, equality, and cooperation, this non-profit alliance focuses on R&D, standardization, and commercialization of VR technologies.
A graphene industry alliance was also launched, with a three-year action plan aimed at promoting joint innovation and resource sharing. It includes 22 companies and 5 universities, working together to advance the development of graphene-related technologies.
In the smart manufacturing sector, the province is pushing for industrial transformation through projects like "Dazhi Moving Clouds." Over 50 universities and research institutes, including Harbin Institute of Technology and Harbin Electric Group, are involved in forming a strategic alliance to drive intelligent manufacturing forward.
Finally, the Lightweight Manufacturing Innovation Alliance was created to meet the needs of lightweight industry enterprises. Led by the UK Imperial College and the Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences, it aims to develop a full industrial chain covering materials, equipment, and end-users, supporting innovation and sustainable growth in this field.
These efforts reflect Heilongjiang's commitment to building a strong, collaborative, and innovative industrial ecosystem.
