Tank-like robots use the gecko's stunt climbing wall

Inspired by geckos, the scientists developed a tank-like robot that climbs vertical walls and attaches surfaces without the use of suction cups, glue or Other liquid adhesives to climb over walls and other objects. Long and narrow part.

The 240-gram robot has a track and the track is covered with dry microfibers made from the gecko's toe. It is with these fluff that the gecko has the well-known ability to climb windows and walls with little effort.

The reason why the gecko has such a skill is thanks to the hundreds of millions of superfine fluff known as bristles. These fluffs interact with the surface of the climber, creating the famous molecular vane "Vandervals force."

The British research journal Smart Materials and Structure said on Tuesday that the robot's track is encrusted with mushroom-like polymeric microfiber caps, which are only 0.017 mm wide and 0.01 mm high. In contrast, human hair is about 0.1 mm thick.

The researcher is Jeff Krann from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. He said: "Although Van der Waals is believed to be relatively weak, the thin, flexible projections provided by the mushroom cap ensure that the contact area of the robot with the surface of the object is maximized."

The tank robot crawls at a speed of 3.4 cm per second. It weighs 240 grams and can carry 110 grams.

Built-in storage battery and charger, equipped with the function of over-charge and over-discharge protection and capacity display. It is used as working power supply for lightings, communications, laptops, and special instruments of emergency working, field working, press interviews, special vehicles and other fields.

It can be equipped with different type of storage battery such as lead acid battery, Nickel Cadmium Battery, silver zinc battery, Lithium Ion Battery and other storage batteries, providing various output voltage classes.
